Results of Urban Environment Program Estimated in Outer Manchuria
Authorities of Amur Oblast summarize the results of implementing the national priority project Creation of a Comfortable Urban Environment. This year more than RUB 200 million from the federal budget was allocated for this. These funds were spent on beautifying yards and public spaces in Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, Svobodnyi, Raichikhinsk and Tynda.
Objects which could be repaired were determined together with the heads of city councils. We have visited the site and inspected the progress. We had some remarks but I'm sure that the heads of our municipal structures coped with their task.
Aleksandr Kozlov, Governor of Amur Oblast
The objects proposed for implementing within the program have been agreed with the community. According to the Minister of Housing and Communal Services, the citizens actively participated in the program. As on 2018 approximately 150 applications from the community are ready.
"Committees consisting of representatives of NGOs have been created. As a result 38 yards, 8 public spaces and one park in Svobodnyi were determined", told Sergei Gordeev, Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Amur Oblast.

It began in all Russian regions upon the initiative of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. The project maximally takes account of citizens' opinions when beautifying urban spaces.
Previously Sergei Kachaev, Deputy Minister of Development of Russian Far East, mentioned the need to improve the social environment in the cities of the Far East. To his opinion, this will help to consolidate the inhabitants of the Far East in the regions.
"The quality of sociocultural environment in the Far East is the main question. We ought to create a social environment for the youth to live comfortably and find interesting events", noted Sergei Kachaev.
Measures for improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Far East have been spelled out in the concept of Far Eastern population policy approved by the Government of Russia.
