Alexander Kozlov: Russian-Japanese Partnership to Be Discussed at EEF
Alexander A. Kozlov, minister of the Russian Federation for the development of the Far East held a working meeting with Mr. Toyohisa Kozuki, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in the Russian Federation.
“We are open for cooperation with Japanese colleagues. The fourth Eastern Economic Forum will be held in September, where the presence of the Japanese delegation will be an important issue for the development of our partnership. We will be glad to see the official Japanese delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Shinzō Abe in Vladivostok. We are waiting for the forum to give development to existing projects and start to new ones,” said Alexander Kozlov.
The head of the Ministry informed that the EEF program will include business dialogues by countries, including the dialog “Russia-Japan".
During the meeting were raised the issues of preparation and carrying out the sport program events of EEF-2018, including the annual international judo tournament named after Jigoro Kano among juniors (boys and girls) under the age of 21 under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation and International Far Eastern regatta of training tall ships.
We remind that the Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 11 – 13 in Vladivostok. The main event of the Forum will be the plenary session "Far East: Creating a New Reality" with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Putin.
The EEF-2018 Business Program architecture is currently being published. It is based on four main thematic clusters. The first direction of the discussions is "Economic Policy in the East of Russia. What Do We Do Next? ". The investment potential of the Russian Far East in such spheres as oil and gas chemistry, mining, tourism, agriculture, fish processing, transport and logistics will be revealed in the block "How to Do Business in the Russian Far East". The third thematic block is "We Are Neighbors: We earn cooperating with Each Other”. The fourth theme is "Far East: a New Quality of Life, Meeting the Challenges", where special attention will be paid to the issues of demographic policy, cross-border cooperation, integrated development of cities and territories, as well as creation of new jobs in the region. Within the framework of the Forum 5 business dialogues are planned: “Russia-ASEAN”, “Russia-India”, “Russia-China”, "Russia-Republic of Korea", and “Russia-Japan”.
