More than 50,000 E-Visas Issued in the Russian Far East
Over one thousand E-visas have been issued for visiting the Russian Far East over the past week. In total since August of last year, electronic visas have received more than 50.2 thousand foreign visitors.
The most active remain Chinese and Japanese, who received more than 48.1 thousand visas (38.3 thousand received Chinese and more than 9.8 thousand were issued for the residents of Japan). In the third place on issued visas are citizens of India. They received 809 visas. Since September this year, it is possible to arrive on an e-visa in six Far Eastern regions of Russia. There are air checkpoints in Vladivostok (Knevichi), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo), Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk (new), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Khomutovo), and Anadyr (Ugolny). Maritime checkpoints operate in three regions: Primorsky Krai, Kamchatka and Sakhalin. On an e-visa in Primorye it is possible to arrive through railway checkpoints “Pogranichny”, “Khasan”, and “Makhalino”, and via highway checkpoints “Poltavka” and “Turiy Rog”.
Residents of 18 countries can apply for an e-visa on a specialized website. This should be done four days before the expected entry. E-visa is issued free of charge, without consular fee.
