Almost 3 thousand foreigners have visited the Far Eastern Federal District by an electronic visa this week

Almost 3 thousand foreigners have used the electronic visa system for visiting the Far Eastern Federal District. In total 38.1 thousand foreign citizens from 14 countries have visited the Far Eastern Federal District since August of last year.

Most often electronic visas are used by residents of the People's Republic of China (almost 30.1 thousand people) and Japan (7.7 thousand people) for arriving here. Also, 151 people from Singapore, 65 people from India, 28 people from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, 21 people from Saudi Arabia, 16 people from Mexico, 11 people from Turkey, 9 people from Bahrain, 6 people from Algeria, 4 people from Iran, 4 people from Morocco, 3 people from the United Arab Emirates, 2 people from Kuwait have come to the FEFD with the help of this system.

It is possible to visit six Far Eastern regions using the electronic visa system. Air border checkpoints are active in Vladivostok (Knevichy), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo), Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk (Novy), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Khomutovo), Anadyr (Ugolny). Primorsky Krai is visited by an electronic visa most often, first arrivals by air have been also registered in Khabarovsk Krai (9 arrivals) and Sakhalin Oblast (7 arrivals).

Offshore checkpoints (posts to cross the RF border) are working in Primorsky Krai, in Kamchatka and Sakhalin. It is possible to arrive in Primorye by an electronic visa through railway border-crossing checkpoints "Pogranichny", "Khasan", "Makhalino" and automobile border-crossing points of "Poltavka" and "Tury Rog".

More than 51 thousand electronic visas for visiting the Far East have been issued since August of last year. Residents of China and Japan are remaining the most active visitors; they have obtained more than 48.8 thousand visas (38.9 thousand – residents of the People's Republic of China and more than 9.9 thousand – residents of Japan). Residents of India take the third place in obtained visas. They have been issued 826 visas.

Residents of 18 countries may file an application for getting an electronic visa on a specific site. It should be done four days before the intended arrival. An electronic visa is free of charge and there is no consular fee for obtaining it.
